Selection has commenced for the “XIII Internazional Massenzio Arte Competition“ and it is open to all Italian and international artists working in any medium. This year, for the first time, a monetary prize of 1000€ will be awarded to the 1st prizewinner. The competition culminates in the exhibition of the competition finalists in the prestigious ISA complex in Roma, complete with a catalogue and solo exhibitions for all finalists.
Works of painting, sculpture, design, photography, installation, murals, video, web art, etc. may be submitted. (one judging strategy will apply to all art works)
The final deadline for the competition is July 31st, 2009. Artists must send or delivery to the Associazione Culturale Massenzio Arte video or photographic documentation for three art works (two photographs of each work from diverse angles to document sculpture is suggested)

Payment of Fees:
The mandatory application fee for participation of 50 € may be paid by:

Notes: o For all applications received by post the postal stamp o jpg images must be labeled as follows: last name, first name & title; on the back of photographs: last name, first name, title of work and which way “UP” with an arrow. o Artists must send a synthetic text of no more than 500 characters (circa half a page typed written) o Any catalogues may be sent to the above address
On review of all documentation the jurors will choose the artists of most merit to participate in the exhibition, and there will be no more than thirty artists included. All jury decisions are final. The exhibition will take place in November, and at that time the jury will choose the three finalists.
All chosen artwork will be reproduced in the catalogue. The catalogue will be distributed to art galleries and cultural institutions and will be available to visitors free of charge at the exhibition. Participants must collect their art works at the termination of the selection process and exhibition within 15 days of the official communication from the organizers of Massenzio Arte. The organization takes no responsibility for return of artwork after that date. There is no charge for participation but the annual membership fee for the Associazione Culturale MassenzioArte is obligatory.
Artists who have been selected in two previous editions of this competition will not be considered for inclusion in the group of finalists.

This competition
strives to offer high visibility to any artist working in artistic
investigation by informing art dealers and offering exhibition space, in
this way increasing their critical and public profile on the national
and international level.
Each
of the three finalists will have a week long exhibition (no entry fee)
in the gallery of Massenzio Arte.
The
selected works will be exhibited in the exhibition spaces of the I.S.A -
Istituto Superiore Antincendi of Rome.
